Don Pio Quinto del Carmen was the husband of Petrana Gador and father of Eulogia del Carmen and Fr. Bartolome del Carmen.

     He was born in Batangola, Negros Occidental, around the first quarter of the nineteenth century.  He later transferred to Dumaguete, and later, in around 1848, moved to Moalboal, Cebu.  In Moalboal he met Petrana Gador, the daughter of a Cabeza de Barangay, Don Placido Gaodr, and soon married her.

     Pio Quinto and Petrana had four children: Eulogia, Tecla, Benedicta, and Bartolome.  He and his wife died in Moalboal, Cebu, before the start of the twentieth century.
